ABEL TAM TAKES OVER AT 100PLUS WITH 3-UNDER 141

Abel Tam, a newcomer of the MGA Pelapis Squad, takes over the lead after Round Two of the 100Plus Malaysian Junior Open with 3-under-par 141. Abel shoots 2-under-par today to take over the lead from team mate, Gavin Green.
Gavin slips to second place after carding 1-over par 73 today for a 2-under-par 142 tournament total. Johnson Poh of Singapore climbed up to third place after shooting 1-over par 73 for a 4-over-par 148-tournament total.
In the Girl's Division, Filipino's Marvi Monsale takes over the lead after carding 4-over-par 76 for a 152-tournament total. Second place belongs to Kelly Tan, a member of MGA's Ladies Elite Team who shot 7-over par 79 for a 153-tournament total.
53 boys and 19 girls made it into the final, tomorrow, August 13 after the half-way cut.
In the Team's Event, Malaysia represented by Gavin Green and Kelly Tan won the title for the first time with a combined score of 295. Second place went to Singapore's Team of Johnson Poh and Joey Poh with a combined score of 310.
Conducted by the Malaysian Golf Association, this Championship started back in 1982 with Commercial Union Assurance as the first sponsor. Since 2002, 100Plus has been a great supporter and contributor to the Junior Open. This year, a total of 108 players boys and girls from 11 countries are competing in this 3-day World Amateur Ranking Championship.
