The Opening Ceremony was held at Bukit Jawi Golf Resort

The opening ceremony was held today, August 10 at the Clubhouse of Bukit Jawi Golf Resort. A total of 108 players boys and girls from 11 countries will compete in this 3 days World Amateur Ranking Championship.

Conducted by the Malaysian Golf Association, this Championship started back in 1982 with Commercial Union Assurance as the first sponsor. Since 2002, 100Plus has been a great supporter and contributor to the Junior Open.

The Opening Ceremony was officiated by the Vice President of Malaysian Golf Association and attended by Tuan Haji Mohamed Akbar Mustapha (Director, Penang State Sports Council), YBhg Dato' Phen Say Bah (Captain of Bukit Jawi Golf Resort), Mr. Khor Kim Tong (Managing Director of Bukit Jawi GR), Maj. Jimmy Ng (Penang State Representative for MGA) and Mr. V. Ravindran (General Manager of MGA).

The Opening Ceremony was attended by almost all players, team managers, officials and guests.

Tomorrow (11 Aug 2009), 81 boys and 27 girls will start their first day battle for the 2009 Malaysian Junior title.
