The mock cheque presentation and press conference was held on Thursday, April 15 at 12.00 noon at the PM's Office. It was attended by the PM, Minister of Youth & Sports, MGA EXCO and General Manager.

Datuk Robin Loh, President of MGA in his speech stated that the grant will be fully used for the National Junior Development Program especially for training junior elite and introduction of golf to the masses. He went on to say that the main objective of the Programme is to promote and develop the game to kids between 8 to 18 years old as well as encouraging the schools and related organizations to run their own junior programs.

"We hope that golf will be included in the 2016 Olympics and if our juniors are trained from today, it is not impossible that they can represent Malaysia in the Olympics," said Datuk Robin after the ceremony.
